Montefabbri, a town from the past …
The hotel benefits from a beautiful, tranquil location and boasts a suggestive view over its rural surroundings in the Montefeltro hills.
Far from the chaos of the city, the hotel is strategically placed for access to various central Italian towns of historical and artistic interest.
One of the most beautiful historical towns in Italy:
The first thing that strikes the visitor about Montefabbri is the view of small and ancient houses that still today preserve an authentic look of rustic simplicity.
You are surrounded only by hills, fields and silence. No trucks pass under the narrow gates, and the sound of birdsong makes the alarm clock unnecessary. People in Montefabbri don’t know the meaning of ‘hectic’.
Over the archway stands a statue of the Madonna with Child, carved in sandstone in the 15th century. But the real surprise is the church of San Gaudenzio, which probably dates back to the 7th or 8th century and is dedicated to the first bishop of Rimini, martyred circa 360.
The church is rich in marble and boasts a 12th century crypt where the remains of Saint Marcellina rest.
The administrative municipality is Colbordolo, the birthplace of Giovanni Santi, father of Raffaello Sanzio.
